HALTON NAMED TO U.S. TEAM

-Shore Athletic Club of New Jersey high jumper Gene Halton has been added to the U.S. track and field team which will compete against the Soviet Union in an indoor dual meet at the Richmond Coliseum March 16. Halton will join Pat Matzdorf of California's Club West, the world outdoor record-holder, as the two U.S. representatives in the high jump. Halton, an ex-Christian Brothers Academy and Princeton University athlete, qualified for the U.S. team with his leap at the U.S. Indoor Championships Feb. 22 in New York.
