Professor Elena Perez visited the University of Notre Dame during the month of August. She is tentatively scheduled to teach the Introduction to Probability and Statistics course next summer. An impromptu information session was held on August 30 for interested students about the Summer in Spain 2008, and also was a chance to meet Prof. Perez. She fielded questions about life in Spain and Alcoy, about how hard it is to get to the Mediterranean beaches of Benidorm and Alicante (it’s easy), and the food to expect, among other topics. Eighteen students were in attendance, which was considered strong turnout for the first week of classes.
