Tom talked about the possibility of committees and their purpose
- They need a chair
- They can do pre-meeting research about stocks presented by other people
- They will keep an eye on the stocks in their sector and make presentations about those stocks and other sector stocks that could possibly be added
Introduced Co-Fund Managers
- Co-Fund Manager - David Riebschleger
- Co-Fund Manager - Mark Brown
Co-Fund Managers discussed:
- Getting rid off stocks that are very scant in the fund
- An alternative to getting rid of stocks would be to just leave them off the list . . . but this may lead to other problems
- Possibly talk to a different broker . . . maybe get a better commission
- We need to look more at mutual funds . . . Brad will look into some international funds
- Another member offered to present a stock as well
- It is important to have committees
- AOL is too much of our portfolio
- We need to evaluate all of the stocks in our portfolio
Our Advisor, Paul Conway, attended the meeting
- We need to get an ad in the Observer
- Reiterated the fact that the fund works through the Fund Managers
- It is important to use the web for communication

was a problem in the past
- The website now has a list of the fund’s positions and other useful
information, such as an updated constitution
- The website address is: www.nd.edu/~invclub
Discussed plans to clean up portfolio
- There are a lot of stocks that are in the fund because they were
purchased many years ago
- Many of these stocks are not positive opportunities for growth
- Also, there are a few stocks that we have only a few shares of
- It might be better for the portfolio to be cleaned up a bit

- The process could go a lot faster, so we could buy stocks at the price

Biopure (BPUR)
that, by the end of the week was at about $36 (it was $25 on Wednesday)
