Description: Review of linear algebra and undergraduate signal/system concepts. State variable descriptions of linear dynamical systems. Solution of state equations for continuous-time and discrete-time systems. Stability (Lyapunov and Lp). Controllability and reachability. Observability and Constructibility. State space realizations. Model reduction via balanced truncation and moment matching. State feedback and state observers. Observer-based control systems.

Grading: Homework 30% - 2 Midterm Exams 40% - Final Exam 30%
