The Terahertz Circuits and Systems Laboratory (~ 1000 square-foot facility in Fitzpatrick A61 & B16) at UND has a number of specialized instruments for submillimeter-wave and THz measurement, including terahertz solid-state multiplier sources manufactured by Virginia Diodes, Inc. covering the frequency bands centered at 200 GHz 400 GHz, 600 GHz and 1.2 THz, THz broadband quasi-optical detectors covering 100 GHz to 900 GHz, a THz high-responsivity waveguide detector covering 500-720 GHz, quasi-optical components including off-axis parabolic mirrors, lenses, beam-splitters, horn antennas, THz waveguide components. Other equipment include a GPIB-to-USB adaptor, lock-in amplifier, pre-amplifier, digital multimeters, 26.5 GHz spectrum analyzer, antenna measurement setup, power suppliers, computer-controlled 2-D scanning stage, and rotation stage. The lab is also equipped with cryogenic Dewar (4.2K) for THz receiver/mixer testing and characterization. A 500-750 GHz VNA has been purchased recently.
