Deviations from Scholasticism. -- We may bring under four heads the various secondary systems which, while retaining some of the doctrines of scholasticism, assimilated more or less freely various foreign principles: certain systems influenced by Averroïsm; the German mysticism of Eckbart and his school; the theosophy of Raymond of Sabunde; the theosophic mysticism of Nicholas of Cusa.
