Notre Dame Summer Program in Mathematics

A two-week mathematics summer camp for rising sophomores and juniors in South Bend.

Cost: Free! In fact, if you complete the entire camp we will pay you $400.

Dates: July 9-20, 2018.

About: This program is intended for rising sophomores and juniors from the South Bend school district. You will learn interesting mathematics, with a focus on creative problem solving and topics outside the usual high school curriculum. We will also have panel discussions about things like applying to college. Our hope is to show you the excitement of a career in math, science, and technology.

Instructor: This program is led by Professor Andrew Putman with the assistance of PhD students from Notre Dame. Professor Putman got his PhD from the University of Chicago in 2007 and joined Notre Dame in 2016. He has received many awards for his research, including being named a Fellow of the American Mathematical Society in 2018. This program is funded by an NSF Career Grant (NSF DMS-1737434).
