{\bf{Remarks on Problem Sets}} As well as lecturing, I set aside large blocks of time in class for the students to work on problems from the problem sets listed here. Most of the exercises are from the textbook. In the earlier sets, when we were reviewing material familiar to many of the students, it was necessary to supplemement these with some more challenging/unusual exercises for the students with better backgrounds. Later, when we moved to less familiar material (quadratic reciprocity, elliptic curves etc) there was sufficent range in diversity and difficulty of exercises in the book for all students. \bye
