Project Guidelines
Draft due: Dec 6
(There is no class, just drop it by my office or e-mail me an electronic
copy).
Final draft due: Dec 13
The idea is that you give me a draft on december 6 - it is not graded at
that time, but I
will make numerous writing suggestions, which you will then implement and
turn in the last day of class.
- The paper should be somewhere around 10 pages in length. I don't
really care about the length, but it should be significant enough to discuss
something interesting.
- It should be TeXed. Do let me know if you need access to facilities to
do this - certainly let me know if you don't know tex.
- It should have a bibliography - even if there is only one reference.
- Write it so that other people in the seminar can read and understand
it. In particular, define things, give motivation, etc.
- Don't put all of your equations in the middle of your text,
rather, used "displayed
equations" to make reading easy.
- Work out examples of what you write about and include these.
- Feel free to include figures.
- BE PRECISE!
Presentations are just like an ordinary lecture, they can be long or short,
but cannot be longer than 45 minutes for the obvious reasons!
