Course description: The course will discuss the basic notions of algebraic topology. Homology, cohomology, universal coefficient theorem, Kunneth theorem, Poincare duality, and basic homotopy theory (time permitting).

Homework Homework will be assigned on Canvas Assigned most wednesdays, usually due the following Wednesday. I will drop the lowest hw score. Most problems will be taken from Hatcher. You may collaborate on homework, but please write up your own solution.

Midterm/Final Both will be open book/notes (electronic form acceptable). Midterm: TBA. Final: TBA

Grades Homework 50%, Midterm 20%, Final 30%.

Textbook Hatcher, Algebraic Topology. Peter May's "Concise course in algebraic topology" is an alternative. Both are downloadable for free from the web.
