• Orientations and Eisenstein Series
  A project in the works to orient TAF spectra, with Mike Hopkins and Niko Naumann. The work rests on the construction of an Eisenstein measure on U(1,n-1) with certain properties. I wrote two status reports below.

• Derived Fourier Analysis
  The idea was to express an enriched functor from an enriched symmetric monoidal category to spectra as an end or coend of monoidal functors. This coincides with Goodwillie/Weiss calculus when the category in question is spaces/vector spaces. Here's an old document that explains the idea. At the time I could not make the mathematics precise, but Sam Isaacson has developed the necessary general theory to proceed.
• Topological automorphic forms: a fantasy
  This is an old document attempting to understand topological automorphic forms for Shimura varietes associated to quaternion algebras. A complete construction of such spectra, as well as some computation of their homotopy groups, is now available in a preprint of Mike Hill and Tyler Lawson: "Automorphic forms and cohomology theories on Shimura curves of small discriminant". • Shimura varieties of type U(1,n-1) in characteristic 0
  An expository note concerning a certain class of Shimura varieties that Tyler Lawson and I are studying. Attempts are made to understand what an automorphic form is. Last updated 10/19/05. pdf
• Orthogonal calculus vs homotopy calculus
  Greg Arone and Tom Goodwillie told me how to mix calculi. This note tries to understand it in terms of q-analogs of iterated difference constructions. Last updated 4/30/04. dvi
• Adams and Wirthmuller isomorphisms for compact p-adic analytic groups
  An attempt of mine to understand how analogs of certain duality isomorphisms in equivariant homotopy theory carry over formally to derived categories of G-modules, for G a p-adic analytic group. Last updated 2/20/05. dvi

  These are some documents which contain partial computations of the 3-primary homotopy of Q(2). The idea is to understand Shimomura's 3-primary computations.

• Cooperations and representations
  Hopf algebras and Hopf algebroids give group schemes and groupoid schemes, respectively, and their comodules correspond to algebraic representations. The cooperation algebras associated to generalized homology theories often give rise to Hopf algebroids, and the comodules associated to the generalized homology of certain spaces give rise to natural representations.
