The Marriott and Ramada hotels listed on the original MEG information sheet are both full. Many hotels in the area are full. Here are two possibilities.
1. Kellogg Center, South Harrison Road, East Lansing, on the edge of the MSU campus. Phone 517-432-4000. It is at the corner of Harrison Road and Michigan Avenue (see the travel directions on the web page), about half a mile from the MSU Union. The price is $105. ****NOTE: As of five minutes ago, there were only four rooms available for Friday night, so if you want to stay here, call quickly.****
2. Residence Inn, 1600 E. Grand River, East Lansing, phone 517-332-7711. This is an "all suites" hotel, located just east of Hagadorn Road, on Grand River Avenue. It is one mile east of the MSU Union, and an ugly but feasible walk. (Or, if you drive, you can park under the Marriott or in another ramp in downtown East Lansing, for about $5 for Friday afternoon and evening, and on Saturday you can park on campus for free.) The basic rate is $115 for a studio suite, but:
1. If you are a AAA member, with AAA card, you can get the AAA rate of $85 if you talk to Patty and remind her that she told me that.
2. If I make the reservation for you, allegedly I can get the MSU rate of $80. If you want me to do that, send me the necessary information (home address, phone number, credit card type, number and expiration date), as soon as possible.
