The 7th annual meeting of the Midwest Econometrics Group will be held on October 17-18, 1997, at Michigan State University. The meeting will begin at approximately 1:00 PM on Friday, October 17 and end at approximately 5:00 PM on Saturday, October 18, and will be held at the Union Building on the MSU campus.
A block of rooms is being held for Friday and/or Saturday nights at the Marriott Hotel -- University Place, East Lansing (300 MAC Avenue, East Lansing, MI 48823). The price is $80 per night, plus applicable taxes, for a single or double room. Rooms are also available for Thursday night at the same price. To make a reservation, call the hotel at 517-337-4440 or call the Marriott central reservation number, 800-228-9290; ask for the group rate for MIDWEST ECONOMETRICS. Reservations need to be made by September 15 to guarantee the group rate.
The Marriott is the most convenient accommodation for this meeting, since it is only two blocks from the MSU Union Building. Furthermore, it is located in the midst of the excitement of downtown East Lansing. A cheaper alternative is the Park Inn International, 1100 Trowbridge Rd., East Lansing, MI 48823, telephone 517-351-5500. They have double rooms at $47 and single rooms at $41. This is just the standard rate; there is no block of rooms reserved there. The Park Inn is adjacent to campus, but almost two miles from the MSU Union. (However, there are two Korean restaurants within 100 yards.)
To attend the meeting, please return the following registration form, preferably by June 30. If you wish to present a paper, you must fill out the registration form and send a copy of the paper by June 30. A preliminary program will be sent out in early August.
