Reflection

For this week, you are to consider the following questions as we explore issues related to corporate personhood and antitrust:

  1. Should corporations be responsible for immoral or unethical use of their products?

  2. Should corporations refrain from doing business with immoral or unethical organizations or persons?

  3. Should corporations make business decisions based on morality and ethics?

  4. Who decides what is right and what is wrong for a company?

  5. Are there moral or ethical limits to how "ruthless" or competitive a corporation should be allowed to be?

  6. Is there such a thing as a corporation being too big?

  7. What role does government play in providing an even playing field?

Note, you should not simply list the questions and answer each one directly. Instead, the questions are there to help you brainstorm about the question:

If corporations are afforded the same rights as individual persons, should they also be expected to have the same ethical and moral obligations and responsibilities? Who (if anyone) or what (if anything) should enforce fair play and competition between corporations?

Your writing reflection should ultimately answer this question.
