Please use the application form link in the left-hand frame to apply for the conference.  Abstracts and initial applications are due by July 1, 2012.   This two-step process is necessary due to oversubscription of the conference in recent years.  To keep the conference highly interactive, and to stay within the limitations of the SIU Touch of Nature Conference Center, attendance is limited to 180 participants.  For labs with multiple applicants, preference is given to students and postdocs who are submitting abstracts.  There is no strict limit on the number of participants from a single lab, but we encourage a maximum of about four participants from any single lab (including the PI).  Labs interested in registering more than this suggested maximum should contact the organizers to determine the registration demand for this year and to determine what arrangements might be possible.

After receipt of initial application and abstract submission, applicants will be notified of acceptance or wait-listing by July 22, 2012.  At that time, housing and full registration should be completed, and payment for meals and registration will be collected.  Cost for meals for the duration of the conference is approximately $150.  Registration cost is: $60 for students, $70 for Postdocs, and $100 for faculty.  Housing costs depend on the housing option chosen at the time of registration (range is $12-40 per night for on-site housing).

August 12 is the deadline for receipt of all payments, and no refunds will be issued after this date.

Off site housing (local hotels) (Note: Attendees who do not wish to stay on site should arrange their own accommodation in the Carbondale area. We recommend that you do so as soon as possible since rooms have not been reserved for this purpose.)
