How to setup your Macintosh Mavericks computer to print to Canon iPF### plotters

AVTFD has an iPF655 and an iPF765.

1. download the printer driver from Canon
2. open the downloaded file from the installer image

        downloaded

3. Install it. You will need the admin name/password.
4. Allow the installation to complete to the point where you see this screen, then click Exit: (do not click Next)

5. Message appears saying that the software was installed, click Close.

6. Open System Preferences and click on Printers & Scanners:

7. Click the + (Plus Sign) to add a new printer:

8. A window titled "Add" opens up. Click the globe titled IP:

9. Type in the entire printer address. Note that "Name" fills in automatically. DO NOT click the Add button yet!
If you like, you can enter something in the Location field that reminds you where the printer is located.

10. Click the Pop-Up next to Use: and select the item Select Software...

11. A window called "Printer Software" comes up and may have hundreds of printers shown.
Use the search box to narrow down your choices, when you see your desired choice appear, select it and click OK.

12. You will be alerted that the computer is setting up the software.
13. You'll be asked to enter your password again.
14. You can now use the plotter.
