Abstract:

A prequantization of a symplectic manifold is a not completely well defined operation that involves assigning to it a principal circle bundle with connection whose curvature is the original symplectic form. Since symplectic quotients are generically orbifolds it is of some interest to extend prequntization to orbifolds and, in particular, to figure out a natural way of assigning to symplectic orbifolds principal circle bundles with connections. I will explain what is involved in carrying this out.
