Abstract:

The Kondo hamiltonian describes the interaction of fermions with a delta function potential. There is a divergence that has to be renormalized, leading to a gap in the spectrum.Thus it is a toy model for Yang-Mills theory. I will describe new methods that are simpler and might be made mathematically rigorous.
