The astrolabe illustrated on these pages comes from Roderick Webster and Marjorie Webster, Western Astrolabes, Historic Scientific Instruments of the Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum 1 (Chicago: Adler Planetarium and Astronomy Museum, 1998), p. 41. This instrument is dated ca. 1250 and its catalog reference is M-26.
