Locations
On Campus Shoots:
- Productions will need to email the following people at Campus Safety in order to request permission to use sites on outside, public areas on campus property:
- Kara Edwards (khuff@nd.edu)
- Mike Seamon (Michael.D.Seamon.3@nd.edu)
- Bill Donaruma (donaruma.1@nd.edu)
- In your request, include the following information:
- Site on campus you would like to use
- Date of shoot
- Time of shoot
- Scenario you will be shooting
- Size of production team (including talent)
- NOTE: Typically, only DCP will need to follow this protocol for larger scale productions. If you have any questions or concerns about your own project, reach out to your professors firsthand.
Campus Safety will treat each request on an individual basis. Their office will then either request more information or approve the production and copy Security. You will receive a confirmation email from Mike Seamon once the event is approved.
If you plan to use prop weapons, you must discuss this with Bill Donaruma first. Please note that these requests will probably not be allowed on campus as it is a sensitive area within campus security.
Off Campus Shoots:

Casting
You have a number of options for finding actors for your films.
- Submit a casting notice to your professor, which can then be forwarded to all FTT majors.
- Publish your casting notice online on Craiglist under South Bend / Michiana > Jobs > TV / Film / Video.
- Pay to publish a short classified in the South Bend Tribune.
- Publish your casting notice in The Observer.
- Print out your casting notice and attach it to the bulletin boards in the FTT building.
- Contact our local acting and filmmaking groups to post casting information:

- Submit your casting notice online via the Breakdown Express / Actors Access Casting Form. Please click here for more details.
- Post your casting notice as a Screen Actors Guild (SAG) film. Contact Kathy Byrne, Director of SAG-AFTRA Chicago, at Kathy.Byrne@sagaftra.org. Upon receipt of submission, Kathy will issue you a Signatory and Production ID number.
