SELECTED DEVERS ACQUISITIONS: 2003-2004

There were several significant Dante purchases in fiscal year 2003-2004. The first of these was of manuscripts and printed works connected to the Argentine statesman, poet, and historian Bartolomé Mitre, including the first edition of his translation of the Divine Comedy and several secondary works on the translation.

The first two volumes of Sandow Birk’s limited illustrated edition of the Divine Comedy were purchased this fiscal year. The Paradiso is expected to be published in the fall of 2004.
