Creating a homework directory

Every student who wishes to take this course must accomplish the following exercise. If you are not registered for the course, you will be unable to do it - see me. Read the instructions below carefully before proceeding. You are free to get all the help you want from anyone you want for this exercise. You should do this only once.

The goal of this exercise is to create the directory in which to store your homework and to add a path to your environment which will enable you to submit homework.

  1. login to your AFS account.
  2. Copy the following path to the prompt
    /afs/nd.edu/coursesp.98/math/math211.01/bin/211setup
    and then hit the return key.
  3. If all goes well, logoff and then login again.
  4. Now type
    211setupOK
    and you should get a message that all is well.
