5 Axis Machining

With the DMG--DMU 125FD machine, the technology of milling, drilling and turning is united in a single machine. The machining envelope of 50” x 35” x 32” allows for a wide range of milling and turning operations to be performed on large and bulky work pieces.

 

Large parts up to 3,000 # can be completely machined in one setup. This reduces the operations and increases precision. The machine uses a universal swivel head which makes it capable of simultaneous 5-axis and 5 sided machining.

The pallet carrier rotates at 300 RPM converting the machine into a Vertical Turret Lathe when needed.

The machine utilizes a double pallet system.  If the part requires machining on all sides it can be loaded on the second pallet while the first pallet is being run. When the part comes off the 2nd pallet it is finished ready to be cleaned and set on a pallet for shipping
