Vertical Machining

The KOMO VMC 50 Machine has a machining envelope of 36” x 36” x 160”. It is very different from most vertical machines because it is a traveling column machining center. The table is stationary.

This feature allows for better flexibility since it allows for almost unlimited part weight. The machining accuracy is not affected by the weight or position of the part on the table.

The 160” length allows the ability to process multiple pieces and/or or multiple jobs at once. The stationary table provides the ability to machine parts continuously at one point on the table while set up or inspection occurs elsewhere on the same table.

The Femco VMC-1400 is more of a standard designed Vertical Machining Center where the table moves in X & Y and the spindle in Z. It also utilizes a Fanuc Control.

Compared to its sister machines, it has a small footprint but with X,Y,Z axis’s of 55”x27”x27” and a 30 position Tool Changer, it can efficiently machine both small and medium sized parts.
