Resources for Advisors

Below you will find important resources to aid you in your work as an advisor. If you have any questions, please contact the Student Activities Office.

PLEASE NOTE: If you are the advisor to a Graduate, Law or MBA Club, please know that policies may differ for these groups from undergraduate clubs. If you have any questions regarding advising a graduate club, please contact the Student Activities Office, Lisa Hemming (Senior Director of the MBA Program), or Peter Horvath (Director of Student Services, Law School).

The Source Online
The Source is the official web-based student organization handbook for the University of Notre Dame. It is published by the Student Activities Office.

Club Advisor Manual
The Club Advisor Manual is the main resource for club advisors. It is filled with great information like Tips on being an Advisor, Do's and Don'ts, Expectations of Club Officers, SAO Staff contacts, Student Union Treasurer Policies and more. Download the PDF version of the manual here. If you would like a hard copy sent to you, please contact the Student Activities Office.

ClubLine
ClubLine is a newsletter created by the Notre Dame Student Activities Office for undergraduate club officers and advisors. It is updated an a regular basis, and includes important information regarding club policies, deadlines, resources and leadership opportunities. As an advisor, you will receive ClubLine emails to keep you up to date on what undergraduate club officers need to know. You do not need to act on this information, but it is helpful for you to know to encourage club officers to stay up-to-date on any requirements. When necessary, emails needing your attention will be directly addressed to you as an advisor via email or mail.

Important Dates and Deadlines for Clubs
In order to maintain club status, clubs and organizations must attend Club Information Meetings, complete Club Registration, and other requirements. For more information on these requirements and leadership opportunities, please choose one of the options below:

Club Coordination Council
The Club Coordination Council (CCC) of Notre Dame is a subdivision of the Notre Dame Student Government. The CCC is comprised of club members elected by their peers to oversee and represent all of the recognized undergraduate student clubs at Notre Dame. The CCC also allocates more than $250,000 each year to undergraduate clubs. For more information, please contact the CCC.

Student Group/Advisor Agreement
This interactive activity will bring the advisor and student leader together to discuss the role of the advisor, and expecations of both parties.
