How to Enter

The GEDC Airbus Award for Diversity in Engineering Education is open to anyone working with or within an engineering faculty, school or college and nominations should be supported by a Dean of Engineering. We welcome submissions from educators who have a proven initiative related to diversity in engineering that has generated measurable results.

  • Individuals should be nominated by a Dean* http://www.gedcouncil.org/bylaws
  • The Dean making the nomination must provide a letter stating s/he has read and supports the initiative presented by the nominee.
  • Deans can put forward more than one nominee. Their letter can be addressed to the nominee, or to the Award Committee.
  • Complete the Submission Form and send it to the Award Committee, along with a maximum of 2 appendices containing no more no longer than 4 pages of written text (other formats, e.g. photo, video are acceptable), by the deadline of 12h Midnight GMT, May 31st 2013.
  • All documents should be sent to nominee@gedcairbusdiversityaward.com
  • The appendices should provide supporting evidence for any claims within the submission; please ensure that their relevance is clearly stated within the submission form.
  • Brief CV details should be included in the space allowed (200 wds) within the submission form rather than as an attachment.
  • The nominee should provide 2 referees, who will be contacted if the nominee is shortlisted. The referees should include at least one person who can validate or support the evidence of the nominee's work and another who may be a character reference or provide additional support for the nominee's work.
