Dorm food collection for Catholic Worker House

In 2012, then-sophomore Alexis Pala started a dorm food drive to collect the leftover food students had in their dorms at the end of the fall semester and at the end of the spring semester.

In 2013, the Office of Sustainability and the Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger Food Drive joined with her to make this an effort that continues on after Alexis graduates. Sustainability commissioners worked in the dorms to get the collection boxes placed; staff and faculty volunteers from around campus picked up the boxes and delivered them to the Catholic Worker House.
