Here in Indiana, 1 out of every 4 children is food insecure and in northern Indiana, almost 20% of the population is food insecure.

Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger is the campus-wide food drive at Notre Dame, held in September which is Hunger Action month. The funds collected are divided between two groups: People Gotta Eat and the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.

With the University of Notre Dame’s Catholic Mission in our hearts, Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger strives to alleviate hunger in the greater Michiana area by partnering with local programs that distribute food to people in need.

Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger 2015 results:

In September 2015, the Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger campaign raised $38,000 and collected 895 pounds of non-perishable food.

Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger 2014 results:

In September 2014, the Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger campaign raised $37,083 and collected 734 pounds of non-perishable food.

Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger 2013 results:

In September 2013, the Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger campaign raised $28,000 and collected 830 pounds of non-perishable food.
