Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger is the campus-wide food drive at Notre Dame, held in September which is Hunger Action month. The funds collected are divided between two groups: People Gotta Eat and the Food Bank of Northern Indiana.
With the University of Notre Dame’s Catholic Mission in our hearts, Fighting Irish Fighting Hunger strives to alleviate hunger in the greater Michiana area by partnering with local programs that distribute food to people in need.
"With members of our community struggling for the basic food necessities, we have the responsibility to respond. Let's take this opportunity to share our blessings with those in need."
-Rev. John I. Jenkins, C.S.C., President
Here in Indiana, 1 out of every 4 children is food insecure and in northern Indiana, almost 20% of the population is food insecure.
