Comparing the effects of the COVID-19 Pandemic in New York City and Chicago
For nearly two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has played a major role in everyone’s life. In March 2020, public transportation ground to a halt, events were canceled, masks became the norm, and we all socially distanced ourselves in an effort to keep our loved ones safe. This project examines the effects of COVID-19 on two major American cities: New York City and Chicago. We compare total cases, hospitalizations, and deaths between the two cities. Additionally, we analyze city specific metrics to gain further insight into how each city has been uniquely affected.
