- Important GENERAL INFORMATION about the course is available here. This includes
the professor's and TA's contact information, information about the text, syllabus, homework, exams, tutorials and grading,
information about course policies, and a reminder of the honor code that is in force for this course. Please read this information
carefully before the second class of the semester; you may bring up any questions you have during that class.
- HOMEWORK for this course will done online via the ilrn system. Specific information about the homework is
available here; again, you are encouraged to read this information before the beginning
of the second class. You should have received the course key for access to ilrn via email; if you have not, please contact
Professor Galvin.
- The online homework should be considered the bare minimum work that you should do. The more exercises you do, the better
you will understand the material. So I will be augmenting the online homework with EXTRA PROBLEMS taken from Stewart's
book. I highly recommend that you do all of these problems in your preparation for the exams, and come to my office hours to
discuss any difficulties that you may have. The extra problems are posted here.
- A detailed course SYLLABUS is available here. Note that there are no tutorials scheduled
for the weeks of the midterm exams.
- Professor Galvin's OFFICE HOURS are currently scheduled as WF 3pm-4pm and by appointment.
- The CALCULUS HELP ROOM is located at HAYE 229, and is staffed Monday through Thursday from 7pm to 9pm. This is a
great source of course and homework help.
- Information on the LEARNING RESOURCE CENTER can be found here.
For Spring 2008, Help Sessions for 10560 are held on Wednesdays from 3pm to 5pm in 228 Coleman-Morse.
- A note on CLASS CONDUCT: The lecture room should be a place where you should feel free to engage in
lively discussion about the course topic; don't be shy! But non course related interruptions should
be kept to a minimum. In particular, you should turn off or switch to silent all cell phones, etc.,
before the start of class. If for some good reason you need to have your phone on during class, please
mention it to me in advance.
