Kogge Named to Interim Council for CCC

Peter M. Kogge, the Associate Dean for Research and the Ted H. McCourtney Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, has been named to the Interim Council for the Community Computing Consortium (CCC).

The CCC was created by the Computing Research Association in conjunction with the National Science Foundation in order to identify major research opportunities and establish grand challenges for the field of computing. It provides scientific leadership and vision on issues related to the future of computing and large-scale computing projects. Members of the CCC also study computing’s impact on industry, as well as the nature and role of research.

Kogge, who has written two books on computer architecture, is a fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and an IBM fellow (retired). He holds 39 patents and patent applications and has also served on many panels, committees, and workshops addressing the future of computing. An alum (B.S., EE ’68), Kogge returned to the University in 1994.
