Flynn Named IAPR FellowPatrick J. Flynn, professor of computer science and engineering, has been named a fellow of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR). He is the first Notre Dame faculty member to be named an IAPR fellow. Flynn’s research interests include biometrics, computer vision, image processing, and pattern recognition. He has served on the editorial boards of three of his field’s major journals, including Pattern Recognition Letters, which is published by the IAPR. Flynn, a faculty member since 2001, co-directs the Computer Vision Laboratory. He is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers and a member of the Association for Computing Machinery and is currently funded by the National Science Foundation, U.S. Department of Justice, Central Intelligence Agency, and UNISYS.
