Porod Named a Nanopioneer
In the Special Textbook Issue 2005 of NanoNews from CRC Press, Wolfgang
Porod, the Frank M. Freimann Professor of Electrical Engineering,
was cited as a “noteworthy name in nanotechnology.” A faculty
member since 1986, Porod serves as director of the University’s Center
for Nano Science and Technology. His research interests are in the areas
of nanoelectronics, with an emphasis on new circuit concepts for novel
devices.
The co-inventor of the Quantum-dot Cellular Automata (QCA), a transistorless
approach to computing developed at Notre Dame, Porod is
a fellow of the Institute
of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and has authored more than 270 publications
and presentations.
