Kurama Receives Young Educator Award
from PCI
An associate professor of civil engineering and geological
sciences, Yahya C. Kurama has been selected as the recipient
of the 2005-06 Young Educator Achievement Award by the Precast/Prestressed
Concrete Institute (PCI). This award recognizes young educators in the fields
of engineering architecture and construction technology who have made significant
contributions to the industry.
Kurama, a faculty member since 1998, also serves as the
director of graduate studies for the department. His research interests include
concrete structures, steel/concrete hybrid and composite structures, earthquake
engineering, and structural dynamics.
